Wine Enthusiast
This ripe, balanced and fruity wine has good acidity as well as a poised and elegant layer of white fruits. Fruitiness contrasts with the more textured character that comes through with orange zest and a tight aftertaste
Champagne Club by Richard Juhlin
A wine made entirely from the family's vineyards in Sezanne. Fresh and clean done, but to simple pickup material. Short small and a bit bland.
Gismondi on Wine
Champagne Guy Charlemagne was founded in 1892 in the heart of the Côte des Blancs. The estate today covers 15 hectares of vineyards, and is overseen by Philippe Charlemagne. They use only their own grapes, in this case, 50/50 chardonnay / pinot noir from their chalky/clay vineyards in Sezanne. This was vinified in stainless, and spent 2 years sur lattes prior to disgorge, with 8 g/L. Rich and doughy, with red apple, toast, lemon pith across an expansive palate, held in check by Sezanne's chalky underpinning. Really lovely balance between the depth of fruit and the tightness of chalk here.

Tasting note
-
We cultivate our own vineyard of approximately twelve hectares, primarily located in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger.
17 lieux-dits are spread across 29 plots on the hillside and in the heart of the Le Mesnil Grand Cru terroir.
Old vines —averaging 58 years of age— are propagated using massal selection in named lieux-dits such as Les Chétillons, Les Coullemets, Les Hauts Jardins, Les Mussettes, Mont-Joly, and Aillerand du Midi.
We are committed to ensuring the long-term health and longevity of our vines.
A sensitive and caring approach.
A concept of absolute respect for the vine’s resilience.
All attention is focused on the vine itself, placing it at the center, so it can fully initiate the connection between the identity of our terroir and its expression in our wines.
