Silvano Follador   -   An exquisite gem in  Valdobbiadene

In the beautiful landscape of the Veneto region in north-eastern Italy, where many wineries produce close to a million bottles annually, Silvano Follador stands out as a miniature winery, located on the unique hills of Valdobbiadene - a winearea declared UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2019.

Silvano Follador and his sister, Alberta Follador, the owners, inherited the vineyards from their grandfather at young age. Being inexperienced, they first relied on an external consultant. However, in 2007 the urge to acquire a more intimate and personal relationship with their wines and land became imperative. Hence, the brother and sister took over the winemaking and decided to interpret their understanding of Prosecco.

Already in 2004 Silvano and Alberta had started to take an interest in organic and then biodynamic farming. With great attention and respect for nature and a philosophy of listening to the vines, they have created a daring and unique Prosecco- without using artificial preservatives, pesticides and fertilisers. The quality of their wines stems from their meticulous work in the vineyards. Silvano Follador is a unique little gem of a top producer that creates sparkling wines with a pure, crystalline mineral flavour.
